Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She has won numerous awards for her work which includes an Oscar. In her early years, the accomplished actress began performing on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. Passionate about acting since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. When she was in the fifth grade due to mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. However, she did not let that stop her. She was a drama major at the college, and then moved from Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dreams. Hunter was stuck in the elevator of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. The first time she appeared in a film was when she moved in Los Angeles. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in a variety of TV films or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame celebrity as well as a winner of the Women in Film Lucy Award.
