Handler became an actress in order to help her. But, at aged 21, Handler decided to pursue the stand-up comic profession full-time, as she was able to discover her storytelling abilities. Handler's career started with an acting gig in a cast of all females in the Oxygen channel's reality-TV show Girls behaving poorly. The show was comprised of hidden cameras and funny humor.
